The Lemon Tree House is proud to present the Vivere Bene Wellness Residency, located in the Cetona Foothills of Tuscany, Italy. Occupying a majestic medieval hamlet in a lush pine forest, Vivere Bene offers guests opportunity to unplug from life’s hectic pace. Enjoy la dolce vita in true Italian style; exploring the best the Tuscan region has to offer, while getting pampered, fit and mindful. Relax and fine-tune the body with daily yoga, Pilates and other fitness classes with the help of our trained staff- lead by yoga instructor and massage therapist Anna Sapershteyn, with guest programs by Nikki Bergen, creator of the Belle Method and Dale Blacker, martial arts teacher and massage therapist. Get a manicure or wax by Parisian aesthetician Emmanuella Maggiore and unwind while our two massage therapists work out those knots. Pique the creative mind in sessions with artist Momoko Allard, photographer Tanja Tiziana and Lemon Tree writing instructor Erinn Langille. or bone up on your Italian with a language class offered on the property. Finally, indulge the senses- enjoy wine tastings in nearby Montepulciano and Montalcino, the art galleries of Florence and shopping in Siena, even a day on horseback through the gorgeous Val d’Orcia. While on site you’ll be treated to delicious and nutritious meals prepared by our in-house chefs using the bounty of the region. Learn to eat better, how to make the most of your food, or catch one of the cooking lessons offered by our skilled cooks. Finally, sample the nightly cocktails by the resident bartenders. Socialize with the fellow guests, make new friends, or tuck into a good book beside an ancient stone fireplace. Guests will enjoy a complimentary Italian-style breakfast every morning served in The Court House's dining room between 9 am and 10 am. Homemade breakfast, as well as breads, jams, cereal, and a selection of coffees, teas and juices.
Evenings, you are invited to join staff for a nightly Apertivo (sunset cocktail hour). Every night there will be a theme, featuring a different cocktail and homemade canapés. One evening guests are invited to join in the kitchen for a complimentary pasta-making course led by our head chef: Cristiano del Falco.
YOGA, MEDITATION & PRANAYAMA
The Lemon Tree House will treat guests to a one hour complimentary yoga class daily (outdoors whenever possible).
Every other evening following dinner, our instructor will also lead a guided meditation. Combined with breath work that will help you enhance your lung capacity and oxygen intake as well as strengthen your ribcage and diaphragm, this meditation helps you wind down, get centred and fully relaxed after a long day of fun.
The Lemon Tree House is very pleased to announce that Anna Sapershteyn will be joining us this year as our very own In-House Medicine Woman / Healer. Anna is a Hatha yoga instructor and registered massage therapist with Reiki Level II. Her "day job" as clown/street performer has brought her much success. Anna has worked with The Spiegel Show, Cirque de Soleil, Flam Chen, Zero Gravity Circus, Clay and Paper Theatre and in many different countries around the globe- Holland, Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Canada and beyond. Anna studied clown under Philippe Gaulier, Francine Coate, Mike Kennard and Helen Donelly.
Truly a jack-of-all-trades, Canadian-born Jason is a writer, trained electrician and chef. In 2012 Jason opened The Brooklyn Street Local in Detroit, Michigan as co-owner and head chef, and has since dedicated his time and energy to bringing his customers fresh, local and organic foods while supporting community and sustainability in Detroit. Jason’s mother came from Abruzzi to Canada, and the Italian roots run deep.
Momoko Allard is a visual artist, working primarily in 2-d pictorial media such as drawing, photography and video, as well as recent book-making and tie-dye work. Currently residing in Montreal, with a second base in Tokyo, she manages the Feminist Media Studio, a research space at Concordia Univeristy, where artists and scholars can work with production and presentation facilities for photography, video and sound.
Belgian Chef & DJ .
A licensed aesthetician since 2005 at the Élysée Marbeuf of Paris 8e, Emmanuella Maggiore has worked in a variety of institutes and spas across France. For the past six years, she has run her own beauty institute out of Paris 17e, providing organic treatments to customers of all sorts: nails, waxing, facials and more, and has recently begun freelancing for salons & conferences as well as various businesses across Paris. We welcome Emmanuella and her amazing treatments!
Every guest will have the chance to sign up for two one-hour complimentary massages over the course of their stay. Enjoyed in privacy outdoors or indoors - depending on guests' preference - from each of our massage therapists.
Anna Sapershtyn, Registered Massage Therapist and graduate of the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy. Her particular massage talents include neuromuscular, myofascial and deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, pre and post natal, sports injury and scar tissue work, however her skills extend to treatments of everything from headaches to asthma to anxiety. In short, there is nothing this woman can't do to make you feel better.
Dale Blacker uses a unique approach to massage which combines Swedish massage, myofacial, deep tissue and cranial sacral therapies.
Guests can book additional massages on-site for 50 € / hour.
Camporsevoli is a privately owned medieval hamlet of ancient foundation, situated on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Formerly owned by renowned Italian families such as the Malaspinas and the Piccolominis, it was purchased in middle of the 1800’s by Marquis Sebastiano Grossi and has been in the family ever since. The landscape is remarkable as the old stone buildings of the village are perched on the Cetona foothills and nestled amongst a rich pine forest. They offer sweeping views of the area, accessible only to the owners and theirs guests. A full time entrepreneur for the past eight years, Nikki’s passion for women’s health has guided all of her endeavors. She’s the creator of The Belle Method, a Fitness Philosophy for Women with three exercise divisions: The Belle Method for elite training, The Bump Method for Pre & Postnatal exercise and The Pink Method exercise rehab program for women recovering from breast cancer surgery. A former professional ballroom dancer, today Nikki is a Master Pilates instructor, Pre & Post Natal Expert, Labour Doula, Breast Cancer Rehab Specialist, Food Allergy Coach and Body Transformation Guru, Instructor Trainer and Speaker. In September 2014 she launched a comprehensive video exercise series for pregnant and post-partum women, all designed with the guidance of a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.
Dale Blacker is a trained massage therapist and chef. For the past decade he has worked at Insight Naturopathic in Toronto, using a unique approach to massage which combines Swedish massage, myofacial, deep tissue and cranial sacral therapies. He also has 30 years of martial arts practice. As a chef, Dale’s culinary style is French market fresh, and he has worked in fine dining establishments across Toronto for the last 12 years.
ERINN BETH LANGILLE:
Erinn Beth Langille is an award-winning writer, most recently winning the 2014 Penguin/Random House U of Toronto Student award for Fiction for her story “The Crossing”. Originally from Nova Scotia, she has a BA from Dalhousie University, a BFA and a BA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, an MA from the University of Essex, and is a past participant of several residency programs including Art Farm Nebraska, the Vermont Studio Centre, the Banff Centre for the Arts and Island Hill House. She’s been a staff food writer for blogTO and a freelance contributor to Maclean’s, The National Post and Bad Day, amongst others. A former organic farmer, art historian, film costumer and restaurant manager, when she isn’t writing stories or working on her novel, she organizes the writing program at The Lemon Tree House.
Tanja Tiziana is an artist and professional photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Professionally, she specializes in editorial photography and stills for film and television, and acts as Managing Photographer at Yonge Street.
In her artwork, she blends digital and analog processes to create works that explore the style and substance of past eras within the modern metropolis, creating images that blur past and present. She is represented by Catalyst/Liss Gallery in Toronto, and Koyman Galleries in Ottawa.
JEN RILEY AND JOSEPH BOLEY:
As the charming faces of the much loved Red House bar in Paris, Jen Riley and Joseph Boley will be bringing their skilled knowledge of the craft cocktail to the Lemon Tree House for the final weekend. Both worked separately in some of the most innovative cocktail bars in Paris, honing their trade. In 2011 Boley opened the American style bar in the 11th Arrondissement. Riley joined forces later in 2012 and now, you can find them both most nights of the week slinging drinks and weaving tales together behind the bar of the Red House.

Tuscany's thermal baths are famous for the curative and relaxing properties of the sulphurous waters. While guests are staying with us at The Lemon Tree House they will have the opportunity to visit some of these magnificent healing baths & pools.
Guests are treated to three day-trips with us. Transportation is included. however restaurant meals will be at the cost of guests, with the exception of the Montepulciano Wine Tour.
SIENA: Siena is famous for cuisine, art, shopping, museums, medieval cityscape and The Palio: a lively horse race held twice a year amongst competing neighbourhoods. We recommend that guests use this day to visit the magnificent Duomo, as well of the head of St. Catherine of Siena.
FLORENCE: Explore Tuscany's capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, once the centre of medieval European trade and finance under the Medici. Considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is noted for its art, architecture and monuments. Take in the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti, and Brunelleschi's Duomo. Florence is also at the hub of Italian fashion. Guests are free to choose from a variety of delicious and beautiful Florentine restaurants for lunch and dinner while visiting the city.
HORSEBACK RIDING VAL D'ORCIA & THERMAL BATH: Discover this stunning area of Tuscany on horseback with fellow guests. A light lunch is served after a morning ride, then guest head to the thermal baths of San Filippo for an afternoon dip in the woods, followed by a picnic aperitivo.
MONTEPULCIANO: This medieval hill town and commune situated in southern Tuscany sits high on a limestone ridge and offers a variety of specialty local wines and foods. Montepulciano is renowned for its wine, and connoisseurs consider its Vino Nobile, with wines made from the Montepulciano grape, among Italy's very best. The region is also known for its pork, cheese, pasta, lentils and honey.
We assume most of you will want to do some cooking while you're staying with us - when in Rome!- so our Tuck Shop is there to fill all your basis needs. The Tuck Shop, open during workshop days from 12h30 until 14h, is stocked with a daily selection of beverages, prepared lunch items, fresh coffee and tea, and basic ingredients to cook on site or take home: coffee, oils, breads, pastas, sauces, olives, spices and herbs, Italian cheeses & meats, local wines & produce. If we don't have what you're looking for you can make a Tuck Shop special order for the following shopping trip and we'll be happy to pick up whatever you need from the grocery store or pharmacy.
